The worst blogger in the world!

Ok let's see....I believe it's been months since I've last written.  It must be if the last thing I wrote about was my son choking on a teething biscuit.  Since then he has learned to walk, has gotten 4 teeth, turned one and has cracked me up on a daily basis.  Life flies by and let's face it...blogs get neglected lol.

Well I have discovered something about parenting.  When your kid gets sick...or gets shots...or has anything happen to them that make them scared or hurt...I can't even describe the horrible feeling it gives you inside.  I am learning how to deal with this little by little.

Last week I took Orion in for his 1 year well visit to get his checkup and vaccines.  I was dreading this appointment the entire day because he is old enough to realize that I am letting someone hurt him but still to young to understand why.  We didn't have our regular doctor who is really great with Orion.  We had some random guy (one of the partners of the practice) who didn't have the same non scary vibe.  Orion didn't like him from the start.  He screamed from what seemed like the moment the doctor walked in...until the moment we left.  The Doc came in and checked him with the stethoscope.  Orion screamed bloody murder which is odd for him.  I wondered the whole time if the doctor would be deaf when he was done.  Then we had to hold him down for the the doc to examine his ears.  I never realized how strong my son really is until i had to try and hold him down.  I hated every second of it.  And I was so afraid to let him go because of the one doctor that made Orion's ear bleed from jamming the scope into his ear while he was moving around.  After that we had to traumatize him a bit more by letting someone prick his finger while Tony held him down.  By this point I was drained but knew he still had 4 vaccines to get.  So we waited...and waited for the nurse.  Instead, the doctor came back and proceeded to tell me that Orion's white blood cell count and lymphocyte counts were elevated so there would be no vaccines that day.  He told me I had to schedule another appointment to get him retested to make sure there was nothing wrong with him.  On top of that during his exam he said Orion's legs need to be examined by an Orthopedist because he has a wide gate and is worried there is something wrong with the bones in his legs.  So this week is full of doctors appointments.  I know in my heart everything is ok...it has to be.
